CALCAG challenges axing of over-60s fees
Our campaign to challenge the declared 'unlawfulness' of fee concessions to over-60s is now in full swing. National and local agencies have been contacted and a special strategy is in preparation.

CHARLES MOWER
We are sorry to report the demise of one of our Committee Members, Charles Mower, at the age of 52. Charles was a real example and asset to the committee, because he had overcome personal difficulties following an accident. He took full advantage of the wide range of courses offered at Grey Friars and Wilson Marriage and was able to share his experiences with the committee. It is fitting that some of his pottery is on display in the refectory at Wilson Marraiage. Charles was a gentle person and the opening song at his funeral was the Beatles Classic "I get by with a little help from my friends". This summed up Charles' philosophy of life. He was always willing to accept help, but equally willing to give it. He was a blessing to all those he came in contact with and will be greatly missed by all involved in Adult education in Colchester.
A Memorial Bench - dedicated to Charles and Tony Butcher - another local supporter of Adult Education has been installed outside the GYM at the Wilson Marriage Centre.
FIND THE MISSING CLASSES!
CALCAG has set out to contact tutors who have continued their classes after they have ceased to be run by Essex County Council.
We want everybody to be able to gain access to classes everywhere. Access to information is a valuable first step towards taking part.
Please spread the word that free listings are available on this website(conditions apply). Please tell all tutors you know who are running classes independently to get in touch with us.
See the COURSES AND CONTACTS DIRECTORY on this website for those who have contacted us so far.
You'll be surprised at the wide choice of subjects!
